The Longest Way

Christoph Rehage decided in 2007 to walk from Beijing to Germany.

Going on foot for 4500 km he didn’t make it to Germany but stopped a little short of his target, making it passed the Gobi Desert before deciding to stop the journey for now.

He did, however, manage to have some great experiences on the way and blogged about them on his website (The Longest Way ).

He also posted up an inspirational video of his journey which can be seen below and shows how he changed as the journey went on. Continue reading

Clock Opera at YOYO, Notting Hill Arts Club

Bring some photo id, your on the guest list but they like to be careful.

Welcome to YOYO, venue for some pretty high profile acts in the past and now venue for Clock Opera, not once but twice in ten days. Last week on the 21st of July they were with Marina and the Diamonds and last night they were with GhostCat who headlined the evening with some raucous rock that had the audience joining in. Winchester Hat Fair – Selected Highlights

Or rather, what I saw at the Hat Fair.

This was the second trip to the Hat Fair for me after going there a few years back to see Bollywood Steps. This time I was there with Tangled Feet for their two performances of ‘Home’ on the Cathedral Green.

While waiting for their shows to start I did get a chance to check out some of the other acxts that were there, the Hat Fair has progressed from being a buskers festival nearly 35 years ago to a vibrant and mixed affair with something going on practically everywhere. Continue reading

Tone Mapped Photographs – June

Here’s a selection of photos taken with a Canon 40D and various lenses and then processed using tone mapping software.

Especially good this month are the images of the gin still taken at 3 Mills Island studio complex in Bromley By Bow.

Clambering around on the upper gantry, about 50 feet up, in one of the spaces while taking photos of Tangled Feet theatre company in rehearsals the view of the still was amazing. Continue reading
