Bootstock – DJ Zebra

bootstock_front100 Rumaging around through my iPod I came across an album which has been out for a bit but I feel needs to be promoted a little wider.

Take one great festival, take one 40th anniversary celebration and take one great mashup artist and mix them together.

What you get is Bootstock a concept album put together by DJ Zebra for the 40th anniversary celebrations of the grand daddy of all festivals, Woodstock.

Using a mix of studio recordings, live festival recordings and the Woodstock movie, DJ Zebra has put together what is probably one best mashup concept albums of the year, and a close contender with The Kleptones’ 24 Hours for my personal favourite mashup concept of all time.

And it’s good to see that the album got airplay on Virgin Radio France, bringing the mashup ever closer to being a creative art from that no longer needs to hide in the shadows.
