Andrew McCarthy ('Pretty In Pink,' 'St. Elmo's Fire') Stars in and Debbie Allen ('Fame') Directs the Timely Updating of 'The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street'

THE TWILIGHT ZONE pays homage to two landmark episodes from the original series with a disturbing sequel to "It's A Good Life" (originally broadcast 11/3/61) and a timely remake of "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street" (originally broadcast 3/4/60) in a special episode of the series to be broadcast Wednesday, Feb. 19 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN.

In the sequel, "It's Still A Good Life," Billy Mumy reprises his unforgettable role as Anthony Fremont, now an adult, whose mind remains so powerful that he can make people vanish, permanently, into a place he calls "the cornfield." Now the father of a six-year-old, Audrey (portrayed by Mumy's real life daughter, Liliana Mumy), he discovers that she is just beginning to develop the same invincible powers. Academy and Emmy Award winner, Cloris Leachman reprises her role of Anthony's mother, Marion. This sequel was written by series Executive Producer Ira Steven Behr and directed by Allan Kroeker.

In an updating of "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street," the new episode, "Monsters On Maple Street," features a modern, timely twist, Andrew McCarthy stars as a thoughtful, middle-class man who watches his street descend into chaos and vicious paranoia when all communications with the outside world are cut off and his neighbors focus their fear on a reclusive family that somehow seems "foreign." The remake was written by Erin Maher and Kay Reindl and directed by Debbie Allen.

Pen Densham, John Watson and Ira Steven Behr are the Executive Producers. THE TWILIGHT ZONE is a production of New Line Television in association with Trilogy Entertainment Group.
